After 39 years in the trucking industry, UCRA founder Howie never imagined life would take such a heartfelt turn.
That changed when a neighbor moved away, leaving over twenty cats and kittens behind. With no rescues or resources within a hundred miles willing to help, we stepped in.
We began by feeding and gaining the trust of the cats, then arranging spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and medical care. To provide shelter, we repurposed an overseas shipping container, a trailer, and part of our mechanic shop into cozy “kitty condos.”
What started as a one-time rescue quickly became a passion and a mission to help as many cats as possible.
We officially founded our nonprofit to give second chances to abandoned and forgotten cats. But we’re dreaming bigger: our goal is to open branches across the nation, creating a network to support cats in need everywhere.
Fueled by love, determination, and community support, we’re here to make a difference—one paw at a time.
